Research & Interests:

I am interested in how the microbial symbionts of the honey bee, Apis mellifera, convey benefits to the bee through nutrient acquisition and pathogen defense. Additionally I am interested in how genetic diversity acquired through polyandry in Apis Mellifera affects task division, hive efficiency, and quality/ quantity of microbial symbionts.
